I think there's probably more than one of us on this forum who are doing this full time.

Because I don't have a job, and I'm newly married with no kids - I really have not that many responsibilities aside from feeding my cat and doing the dishes.

So because I have nothing pressing to have to wake up early, or go to bed early - I end up staying up til all hours of the night.

For instance, I'm posting this at 7:11 AM and I haven't gone to sleep yet.

Are there any other WF members who used to be night owls that broke the curse?

I always feel like a sack of crap when i stay up this late lol, how can I break the cycle?

If you get to sleep at 7 am. Wake up at 11 am or so. The next night you should be tired enough where you get to sleep at a good time. If you still can't sleep, pop some melatonin. The should have some at CVS or walgreens.

Thats pretty much how I did it. Melatonin works wonders, I love the stuff from GNC. And OP, you may have to do this for like a week before your body gets used to the new schedule, but it will.

I've always been a night owl myself, but going to bed at 7 am sucks, now I go to bed between midnight and two using this way.

I know the feeling. Since I work fulltime online too and don't have a job or kids or anything that would require me to sleep a normal schedule, I have also fallen into that sleeping pattern. It's about 7:45am here and I'm still up.

I usually sleep around noon and wake up around 5 or so, but my sleeping schedule is so messed up it varies almost every single day. Basically, sleep when I'm tired - wake up when I'm not. :)

Drink a couple beers and pop a few benadryls. That'll knock you out. Haha

I have the same problem, but I wouldn't really call it a problem, per se...because then I'd be on my way to recovery...and I'd rather stay in denial!

Also, I find that I'm a lot more productive late at night anyway, because there are so many less distractions.

I used to do this too, mainly when I was a student and didnt have fuck all to wake up for! Its all about schedule, if you get into a decent schedule you wont look back...

And also - make sure you set realistic goals at the start of the day, otherwise you will push to get everything finished and end up breaking your routine!

Abit of sex every morning helps you get up too... :p

Although I generally go to sleep at 3-4am now, I used to not fall asleep until I was so exhuasted I couldn't keep my eyes open. This seems to be a common phenomenon with web entrepreneurs.

My solution. Smoke a ton of weed right before I want to go to sleep and pass out.

Stay up and go to sleep at your desired time on the following day.
or
Try sleeping a bit earlier every night.
or
Whatever other ideas you come up with.

I was exactly like that till my wife and I had our first kid, now I go to bed at 3am and get up at 7:30am, then take a nap in the afternoon... still like that though, work work work, gotta by an island :P

I found a quick jog in the morning helps get in a nice routine, and a good wholesome breakfsat helps you wake up and feel fresh.

Do not use medication as a long term alternative. It could have dangerous side effects in the long run.

The human body is a delicate system of chemicals, pumping it too much with any sort of medication/etc can harm it.

Awesome thanks for the advice guys - I'm glad there are some more people like me on here =P

SkyFire you should try some Vemma for your tiredness Vemma - Possibly the most Powerful Liquid Antioxidant in the World – Vemma.com Corporate Headquarters stuff does some amazing stuff for your energy levels (and overall health). I stopped taking it a few months back but I'm going to start ordering it again.

loyolabenson - what is melatonin, isn't that like that chemical in chiken or turkey?

Well I'm up today at 11ish so hopefully I can stay up and this works!

If you go to bed earlier and get up earlier you'll have jetlag because you're circadian rhythms are still adjusted to being a night owl.

If you wake up 3 hours earlier, spend two of those three hours in darkness, in a dark room or something, and then for the final hour go out into bright sunlight. This basically tricks your body into thinking you've got up later than you really have so you won't feel so crappy by your rhythms adjusting.

You can take melatonin at night as well to trick your body into thinking it's later than it really is, I think you can get milk with melatonin added in, usually has stars and moons on the carton.

Or you can just move to Japan.

it's 12:35pm here, haven't been to bed yet.

Fuck it, just live on your own schedule.

There's much less traffic when I go grocery shopping at 3am, I like it.

lol Karnul!

I think the best thing I can do is try the melatonin, and then have a baby like aim suggested lol!

I figured last night I'd try to do the 'stay 35 hours' thing - so I played Battlefield 2142 til 4:30 in the morning...didn't work haha.

Vemma huh? You aren't/wren't one of thier mlm'ers were you?

Anyway, I make my own smoothies most of the year, can't beat freshly blended mango and blueberries.

wake up at 5am everyday, no matter how late/early you sleep the day before. After a few week you will be back to normal

Yeah I used to be a Vemma distributor, quit doing it about 7 or 8 months ago. stuff is amazing though.

Blending your own juice is definitely better than buying juice - I wish I got into the habbit of doing that!

However Vemma's nut just a fruit juice, it's a premium nutritional supplement, got all your vitamins and minerals - great for keeping your energy levels up.

Come to think of it - maybe I should start on it again. I noticed that when I was taking it, I was getting normal sleep, I was never tired like I am these days - and I also gained like 20 lbs since I stopped taking it (it regulates your metabolism)

Get it on ebay though, you can get it for like 1/3 the price
