How to display alot of RSS headlines

I've been asked to build a local site that display a lot of RSS headlines like affbuzz and freshnews. What is the easiest way to do that, and can it be done within the confines of wordpress?

This can easily be done with WordPress.

The Google AJAX Feed API is pretty bawse too.

As you may or may not already know, javascript is not visible to search engine spiders.

Google pretty much can and does crawl javascript nowadays.

Thanks all. What I ended up doing was getting a plug for WP that let's me execute PHP in a widget. I then found some good simplepie rss parsing examples in the wordpress codex. And bam - Oklahoma Home :: Getting Social Up In the Sooner State .

The only bad part about this is I have to paste 20-30 lines of PHP each time I want to add a feed. I think I need to take that 20-30 lines and turn it into a function of my own someplace. Then just call it passing the site name I want the feed from.
