I came to the realization about 3 weeks ago that I fucking hate my job. I'm already making about 40% of my salary online. I got 8 weeks to go to finish out the term, but I am totally fucking burnt out. Classes are getting in the way of doing what I really love to do and that's work on my sites.

How can I keep going at this job? Any suggestions? I got moron students. I've been fucking teaching logic for the last 2 weeks.

The ocean is cold.
I can't swim in cold water.
What conclusion can you draw from the two premises?

Three fucking easy questions like that, I gave them 10 minutes in class to work on them Monday, come into class today(Wednesday) and only 3 out of 25 students fucking did their homework. How old were they? 16 years old. What excuse did they give? It's too difficult.

A month ago in computer class, I gave the students a simple exercise. Go to MySpace and create an account. After 4 hours of classtime, four students still couldn't figure out how to sign up for an account.

Is it wrong that I have fuckin' lost my patience with these muppets? Should I just throw in the towel?

I can't think of a better way to go insane than to attempt to teach a class of teenagers. Run away before they kill your soul.

Wait...what? Teenagers don't know how to create an account on MySpace? I'm not trying to be funny when I ask if this is some kind of "special" education? (I think that's still the "pc" way of putting it.)

isn't a logic course for programmers anyways? why the fuck wouldn't they know how to sign up for myspace? lol

you just got to suck it up while your earnings increase. look at all the shitty people you hate and think that your life will be 100% better than theirs if you continue on to this course.

how about you be a realy teacher, try and break thiese kids and acually make them learn something, by the time that happens either pigs will be flying or youll be makin a full time income online and i think both those situations call for quitting haha.

whatever you do, keep the kids in mind. they are just being kids and doing what they know to do. school is their one and only shot at learning and they are actually depending on you to give them lifelong lessons, in case you dont realize that. people do what they know how to do in a situation... thats why they do it.

ive had teachers before who clearly did not enjoy teaching or us, the students, for that matter. it was a lousy time for us and them.

id STRONGLY recommend checking out a book called 'how to make friends and influence people'. just check out the first chapter, thats it. im reading it now and its specifically on the situation you are in. its pretty eyeopening. not to mention its been acclaimed as one of the most powerful books in history (really, im not bullshitting you here). i know it will help you out with figuring out how to handle this situation :)

good luck.

ps - signing up for myspace is fucking awesome. i wish i had the opportunity to do that. you could always harness their powers as evil minions for creating myspace accounts to do your wishes :)

It sounds like it might be summer school or something. Because those logic statements are what you usually do in the first geometry class. :xomunch:

I'm in Thailand, doesn't that explain things enough?

The craziness about Jatukham amulets is literally taking new heights as the RTAF is taking some much-sought-after amulets on routine flights on F-16 fighters in the hope of boosting their supernatural powers and market value.

Air Chief Marshal Paisal Sitabutr, the Air Force's deputy commander, could not explain the logic behind his reasoning but maintained the F-16's and F-5's supersonic speed would quicken one's good fortune, protection and prosperity. The unprecedented height would make the amulets stand out above the rest, literally and figuratively.

I have given tests where, I shit you not, the students have rubbed their amulet, looked at the test question, looked at their amulet, looked again at their test paper and skipped to the next question.

Geek Cognito, you're straight on, they're sapping out the life from me. It's just a matter of time.

I ain't worried at all. My wife is from a place where we could live on what I'm making now and devoted to full time, I could make more. I just ask myself, why put up with this for even one more day.

I'm burnt out. I think I've seen the book KrazyJosh mentioned, but dudes, I don't really wanna make any new friends. I got plenty of ladyboys, whores and gays coming up to me telling me they want to be my friend. I'm not into that kind of shit. I like girls and I like it for free.

I'd finish out the term and quit. First off, you don't need as much money when you're working from home (less gasoline usage, not as much eating out, no incessant requests for office contributions, less dry cleaning, etc.) . Second, if you're making 40% part-time, you can make even more when you give it full-time effort. Go for it.

I'd use these little minions to do directory submissions but I'm sure they would somehow fuck it up. One girl couldn't sign up for myspace because she couldn't type in the captcha. She spent 2 hours trying to type in the captcha before I had to do it for her.

Maybe you could use them for copywriting? Start a service for unique content on here and then give them the orders as assignments... I should totally get a teaching job and do that.

Edit: Might have to try to get a job at a college in the creative writing department and do that, sounds profitable!

Sell those kids ebooks on how to learn and maybe set up a webstore selling super amulets.

But seriously, if you can't take it, give them some inclass reading and work on your sites at your desk.

yeah, electricshoe, that's a great idea. Great way to get unique content. But asking my students to write unique content would result in a a lot of duplicate content. See they like to cut and paste. I love getting papers in from the students with English far beyond their capabilities. How to spot plagiarism? Ask them what it means.

Here's an idea I did have: I write term papers for people I know back in the states on occasion. It's a lot of heavy duty unique content. If someone collected all of the student term papers, they'd have a hella bunch of unique content to put up on a site.

unless you are teaching the 'tard class, are you sure they're not just fucking around with you because they know they won't have to do shit for an hr besides make a myspace account
