No, I'm not owed money by some shady affiliate network.

Crypteks USB

These guys raised $200,000 and after months of stringing backers along with nondescript setbacks, stopped responding all together. Kickstarter doesn't claim any responsibility, and even though the backers keep mentioning lawyers and filing federal complaints, it certainly seems like nothing is going to come of this.

On top of that, it looks like the same people are now crowdsourcing another piece of vaporware: https://cryoniks.com
More discussion of why cryoniks is a scam: Owner of Cryoniks - 1000GH/s bitcoin miner has previously scammed Kickstarter Backers of $200,000 and no media coverage for that? : Bitcoin

I have no horse in this race, I didn't fund either project, but I have been watching it with much interest all the same. It's damn easy for these people to walk off with hundreds of thousands without any accountability.

i was wondering why no one had done this sooner on kickstarter
seems to obvious to set up a bogus project and not deliver

I thought kickstarter usually vetted biz to a certain degree to make sure they are legit and have real products (if that is what they are selling)

experts in cryptography? they are not even literate enough to name the product without mistakes

That's crazy. The video, info, and articles from major sites are pretty impressive.

Kickstarter used to be great, until scammers got to it, which is inevitable for practically every web 2.0.

Ebay, craigslist, etc.

lol ebay and craiglist not web 2.0 and pretty hard to scam nowadays (not that i would try, but they have beefed up their security pretty tight form what I have read on other forums)
