I now track on the keyword level since I have that pretty much automated, but how can I also track conversions by ads at the same time?

I may have a great CTR on an ad, but it may not convert as well (in terms of overall profit) than the others.

So when I look at adwords, I can create a unique destination url for the keyword, OR the ad. If I'm constantly testing new ads, there is no way to track that along with the keywords... is there?

on adwords you have to make a new url for each of your ads such as this:
http://yourdomain.com/blah?kw={keyword}?ad=AD NUMBER

and then on your offer url or however you track you have to ad a php code to grab "ad" and put it in your subid.

but yea for each ad you have to assign it a new ad number

Good suggestion - That was one thing I considered but but I haven't passing the keyword as provided by google.

I heard from some more experienced folks that it would keep the merchants from snooping on what I was doing and replicating it, so I've been cleaning the keywords by assigning each one a number and then matching it back up in my database later on - Am I just being paranoid?

My end game is that I'd like to automate as much of this as possible so I can spend less time analyzing and acting. I have a great tool that tracks by keywords, but it creates unique destination urls - hence no ad tracking.
