i was on a page with "the office" related content. i saw a full 300x250 google image ad advertising "which office character are you?". i clicked it, and it was a quiz. i answered the questions and before they gave results, there was an iframed ringtone offer on the page.

couple questions...

1. do these types of landers still do well? i can't see anyone falling for these anymore, but maybe i just know better. also, do people really enter their cell # for a chance to just see the results of the quiz?

2. for the amount this guy must pay for a 300 image ad, could he really be making money?

I did a little research to see what other sites this guy had, and they are all "quiz" type offers. i thought these were dead. do they still work?

If you engage the visitor properly they do still work and they probably always will. Just like the freebie offers. Somethings never change. People want to be told how smart they are and people want something for nothing.

bb - I wouldn't pass judgement on someone based solely on their posts on WF. Alot of folks come here already seasoned. That being said I don't know tainted from dick so based on his responses I would say he doesn't know.

They obviously must still be working if they can still be found active. I'll give you a hint, if you want a killer ROI; then advertiser through MSN Adcenter.

And yea BB, each and every single one of us once had 28 posts. Posts do not justify any knowledge. It's just a number.

they are so so sort of like polls, I had a script customized for me and I'm going to release it to the public. It's going to be called quiz whiz. It spits these mofo's out like hot cakes.

Fuck his post count, I know him and he's right nobody is gonna tell you exactly what works.(yes there are exceptions)

All that a post count means is that he spends less time on a forum and more time making money.

They work, they're engaging. They put the user in a "call to action" mindset. Sort of like how salesmen in meatspace get you to nod with them by asking rhetorical honest questions before slipping the sale in.
