How would you invest 8000$

Since nobody suggested this, I am all for taking risks.. but not what you are suggesting.

Ask your employer for a cutback to part time. Use the extra time to trial and error. If you fail, you at least have some fall back money to keep you going.

If you hate the job that much, get a new job as a part time worker or get into manpower temporary work for some easy cash.

I was able to leave me job and go AM full time only because I got a three month severance package because the job moved locations. That was three months to put up or shut up (get a new job).

I think you are being completely irresponsible by quiting and blowing through $8000. You can hire programmers and others to make you a great money making website, however, they take 1-2 months to complete the work. Thus, 2 months you could have kept working. Otherwise, your stuck buying someone else's website like another WF member suggested.

A lot of us have spent years researching forums, websites, successful websites, and then learning HTML, blogging, a little graphic development, SEO, SEM, PPC, Arbitrage, and about the methods to earn commissions. There's a SHITLOAD to learn.

So unless your rent is $400 and can live for a year while you research and get your hands dirty, you definitely need to rethink your plan. I was able to become a success only because I spent a year researching during my mornings, lunch hours, break times, and at night when I am home while I still had my job.

You have the right attitude and the willingness to get in and learn. You are just going way overboard with risk.

8K is a piss in the bucket in terms affiliate marketing. You wont get very far considering how advertising costs and competition have surged exponentially since 2003 and shows no sign of slowing.

Guys guys guys... please ... dont worry about my job ok ? ...

My tickets for asia are already booked, im leaving... until i leave im in "learning mode" , when i come back i will be full time on this. The tests ive made so far didnt work, but i learned alot from them. They costed me under 100$ ...
Im not gonna blow 8k into thin air, im gonna start slow and if i see result ill put more money on it ... its not like i put 8k on 1 single thing and i dont have a clue if it will work or not...

Also, again, my rent is pretty cheap, i live with 2 other roomates ...
Also one thing to consider is that if i stop working completely , i can get some welfare money here in canada we get money from the government if we are unemployed ( could be anywhere between 1k to 1.5k a month in my case ) ..BUT If im part time employed by a company i cant get that money...so its not worth it to work part time... unless i cant get welfare for X reason... i already thought about all the details guys.... Leaving this job will give me the time i need in order to seriously start doing something...
Ive already been researching alot... Im on this forum to get ideas, to get help , not to get lesson on why i should keep my job ... that is NOT going to help me become sucessful ... I know it will be HARD ... i know this... but im willing to go thru hell , just so later i can enjoy life and not be a slave to my boss.

Anyways... please . no more bla bla about my job ok ?
this post is not about my job ...

And when i say i want to invest 8k , it doesnt mean 8k all in the same place... multiple projects etc... little things i can do to start having some money to come in , and build upon that...
Thanks !

Rasta, you failed to mention you were in Canada so most of our responses to you were from everyone thinking you were in the USA where you won't get rewarded for leaving your job on your own terms.

If you can get temporary relief from your government by voluntarily leaving your place of employment, what you are doing can be considered smart depending on the longevity of this relief.

Considering you have 2 roomates, also not mentioned previously, is good too. Your rent is cheap. In this case, and from my own experience, I approve what you are doing now. The only thing I don't approve is "clearing your mind" and going on vacation..... but hey, whatever works. If you could bring a laptop to the beach and download some blogs/forums/ other sites to read while your relaxing, it would be better.

I wish you all the luck. You'll need a bit of luck and a lot of skill to make a living doing AM.

noticed your sig, the warrior forum is cack.

That was back in the day. Ebay is shit now. I used to be a very high ranked seller making very good money. But that was then, and this is now. Ebay fucks sellers any chance they get. Either with constantly increasing fees or some other way. Ebay has become a place to push stolen or near free goods. The prices there are way below cut throat. You would only be shooting yourself in the foot. And end up making near zero margins and making Ebay money. If you want to work like a dog and piss away your $8,000 then FleaBay is the way to go. I would rather buy lottery scratch off tickets than do anything with FleaBay. But hey, that's me.

Yea, I'm doing some consulting for a company that pays $500,000 in eBay and Paypal fees a year.

eBay are a bunch of pricks.

Rasta_Cook,

I got started in affiliate marketing with $18 and a bit of free time.

With $8k and all the free time in the world, you should be able to do just fine if you EDUCATE yourself about this business. Remember, it's going to take A LOT of trial and error. Don't get frustrated or discouraged by things that aren't working... rather, learn from your mistakes and don't ever repeat them.

The best advice I can offer you is to hold on to half of that 8k, no matter what happens. You might be doing fine one day, and then hit a week long slump where you aren't making any money.

Spend only a little money at a time until you're comfortable spending larger amounts of money on what you feel to be "bigger and better things". It's tempting at first to go all out, I know. But, that's also a good way to burn through your bank account and find yourself dead broke.

If you feel like you can succeed in this business, don't listen to anyone else when they tell you that you can't do it. Do what you think is best. After all, life is about taking risks and you sound like a hardcore risk taker.

Enjoy the ride. And best of luck.

If you need any help with anything, shoot me a PM. :)

From Scratch to $100 a day.

Hi,

i consider myself a noob i guess, since im new.
I dont know if people in here are good or what, but it doesnt matter i welcome all advice...
So im about to quit my daytime job , and i have 8000$ ...

Me, Ive been reading alot these past months, seo, marketing , affiliate, ads, etc
Ive started a test 1 month ago ( Poker Tips & Strategies - Become the best poker player you can be, i dont have too much time to put on it, and it was just something to get started, to see how things work.
I know the poker scene is very exploited, i wasnt looking for big results with this test, its just learning.

I think i should consider wholesale reselling on ebay...

Gimmie your opinion on what you would do ?

I don't think you need any money at all to get started. See, you need to find out what works and what doesn't FIRST, and when you know, then you can spend some money on it.
So what can you do.. I see you have adsense already so you can start searching the web for some free websites that you can use.
When you find someone selling adsense websites and he is offering resale rights then you can go right ahead and grab all sites you can grab. Search for some of the text within those sites and you'll find out how many of them are out there already, from there you will find tons of people that bought tons of these sites, if they are for sale WITH resale rights it means you can loot them for free and nobody will be the wiser.
Pick sites on debt, insurance, weight loss and whatever topic where there is a lot of competition.
Now you have 20 adsense sites.
Do some tweaking to their content, change wording here and there, add spaces, make them as unique as you can.
Buy a cheap domain, something very short so you'll be able to have room to create meaningful subdomains. There are plenty of free hosting places, one would be 50webs.com can host unlimited domains for free there, only prob is php sites won't work.
Publish the lot with your adsense code in it.
Now you just spend as many hours a day as you can posting everywhere that'll take your posts about your site's topics.
When first started I liked posting to yahoo answers, it's free and you get very targeted traffic.
People there will say "how can I lose weight?" and you will reply with some good pieces of content from your site about losing weight, then post link to your site. Keep it simple. Just post everywhere and all the cliks you get are profit.
After a month or so of posting for 4 hours a day I was making at least $100 a day.
Ebay are crap. However they have tons of traffic and there are many ways to exploit that traffic.
The first thing is to make your "about me page" and have a link to your sites there. You can also sell a "1p Debt Reduction Guide" and when they buy it you simply post a link to your Debt Site.
Hope you now have enough to get you started without having to spend more than 10 bucks on a short domain.
Even if you just do this for the next 5 years, at $100 a day for 4 hours work a day that's almost as much as the average person's wage in the USA, but you'll be working only 4 hours for it, so THIS could be what replaces your current job. The rest of the day can be spent learning and improving yourself.
