How would you monetize this?

Was about to look at youtube and typed in www. yuotube .com. I guess they aren't monetizing with youtube like content because of copyright issues I would think, but then again looking at the way its set up do you think they are making the kind of cash they should from this domain?

I'm actually surprised that they still own it and google hasn't served them with a C&D or something of the sort.

All the links are searchportal.information.com

Prob with domainsponsor.com - same company as information.com

EDIT: just realised that wasn't what you were asking.. lol!

Maybe make YUO stand for something... like a slogan... to try and make it seem like your own "brand" instead of leeching off of youtube.

Your Unofficial "Oh-Shit" Tube
You're Ugly Organization
Yes Ur Oriental

The above are all 99.9% retarded but I didn't want to sit here thinking of things. The point is come up with something catchy and then monetize using some auto-posting video script.. maybe revver... which will bring in income.

I haven't done anything with revver or any video/youtube scripts so I can't speak from experience but that would be a way to try and seperate yourself from youtube while still maintaining the same idea.

Another idea would be to put up some huge headline like, "You Probably Misspelled You Tube" And then let them take some "Speed Typing Test" to win a free ipod. Dunno...

I've talked with the guy that owns utube.com. He freakin hates it - there is such a thing as too much accidental traffic. I guess he's tried to monetize it a little bit, but honestly were I in his position (and this was what I advised him) would be to sell the domain or totally revamp it to monetize all that traffic.
