Design

I'm starting up a value design business as it seems like a lot of you lot would be interested in that. Anyway, I was just wondering whether my site looks okay (I always like a second opinion).

Not bad, but hardly electrifying. I think your homepage should convey more of the exciting creativity you're trying to sell.

One n00b's opinion.

no offense or nething but if you're trying to sell your skills and in this case your designs. Your webpage needs to be impressive and electrifying like what BlueYonder said. Its decent but it can be better. Your samples needs to be more complex, its rather too simple.

I agree with everyone else, but at the same time, I think that you're ahead by going with the simple and easy to navigate approach, which is one critique that everyone else seemed to have missed.

How about a mouseover the menu links?

And make the page load faster, the actually content loaded after everything else.

I really don't want to be rude but the site looks very poor for someone offering custom design.

If you manage to sell this kind of stuff, please let me know. I'll start a design company right away and expect to be rich in about 6-7 months... :)

IMHO, your site has too many design styles, too many used fonts, too many colors, too many... you know what I mean? Like you started with one style (the rich background pattern), then another day you decided to continue with another (the plain header) and finish with third one (simple and straightforward content styling).

Try to find ONE main idea, ONE main theme of your site and build the design around it.

If you need some inspiration, try sites like cssbeauty.com

Its not horrible by any means, just remember your trying to show off your skills to potential clients, when they see your site thats what they'll think of your work. Even if you have great samples you deff need the site to pop and have people think wow, i want something like this!
