I-95 South bound

There's a lot of ways to avoid 95. That was always my mission when in Florida. I hated it with a passion. Plus, Florida's a pretty state, and you don't get to see that from the superslab.

Just remember when driving at night in Florida, if you see something in the road that looks like a fucking shredded tire, probably a gator. Almost hit 2 of them last year going to Miami.

Google maps says it's only around 15 mins slower.

In reality, it's probably faster. G-maps is calculating that based on distance and average posted speed, I believe. But with the inevitable slowdowns on 95, you'll probably get there quicker going the back way. :D

Is there a lot of traffic lights? In my area there is a traffic light every 5-10 miles, which would suck if it is like that all the way to 75. :)

I don't remember about the traffic lights. I don't think so, or else I wouldn't have used it so often. Big trucks don't like stopping and starting a lot. Really slows shit down.

Go over to Lakeland and take US-27 down to I-75 / SR 84.

I used to run that all the time when I drove an 18 wheeler. If I remember right, it's not a bad run at all. Avoid all the shit and get a little scenery.

Oh man, that movie sucked ass! I only bothered to watch it because I was laid over somewhere and that was the movie they were showing at the truckstop. Imagine that. :repuke:

Be careful around there. Florida drivers are fucking nuts.

you're not kidding, between all the blind retired people and drunk college kids there is just such a low level of driving competence in florida.

Nice! There was no traffic. The speed limit was 65 (aka, 80) in most areas. The scenery was nice, didn't know there were many bears in Florida.
