I'll cut it short for your sake!

Me: Programmer w/ 5 years experience in C/C++/PHP and recently Ruby on Rails. Also know MySQL and enough AJAX to get around.

I need money to get out of debt and pay for private school.

I am not a businessman, and I have been a web guru since the 1997 "spam era." I used to spam (email) and made a fortune but HS kept me too busy to continue it. Also it was legal back then so it wasn't a problem.

I can't design graphics or sites, but I can code the backend. Scripts, platforms, etc. I am familiar with viral marketing and wordpress, if those matter.

What would be the best way for ME, a geek, to make cash?

Thanks.

First, don't use the "boobs" icon if you aren't posting boobs. That's a good way to get flamed around here.

Second, post something in the Buy / Sell / Trade section with examples of what you can do, or have done in the past. Make your rates reasonable and you should see some business.

Third, put those skills to use to build yourself some sites. Promote them using black hat methods and reap the rewards.

Last, read this and this

Hi,

It sounds like you need a business partner that knows what's hot and good at webdesign.

I recently began the same kind of a partnership and it should go very well for both of us.
Trust is going to be the biggest issue.

Do you know anyone?

Regards,

I agree with messa, im kind of in the same boat but im slowly learning marketing. The best thing you can do is pimp out your services to the marketing/designers who cant code.

There is always work to be had, especially in the PHP/MySQL area - As much as I fucking hate Digital Point there marketplace, and the Services>Programming area can always, always provide jobs ranging from simple mail forms up to larger custom content management scripts

I am no tech, but I always have ideas and am looking for other ways to make some loot. If you are interested, pm me or hit me up on AIM. Either way I have some ideas that you might be able to capitalize on.

Well if you dont get enough jobs here with your blackhat experience..you should try free lancer sites ..there are many projects there which are avaible everyday.
