What have you done today that would change your status? How long did you do that activity? Was it more than 5 minutes? Decide to day that you are going to do actual money making activities everyday. Set an amount of time you plan to do it, and do it. Checking email, sts, FB, or damn near anything else you're doing counts.

Being a peasant is a state of mind. It is the serf mentality.
Being poor is something different. Many successful people have been poor, gone bankrupt etc. For some of them, it might have even lead to their future success.
If you wanna get rich to impress people, show off, or act like an asshole, I think you will find that enjoyment is short lived. You'll either get bored of it, or everyone around you will hate you.
