Ok, so a good friend of mine is staying with his girlfriend and her aunt for a few weeks... The aunt has a laptop that needs a new motherboard...
I am charging her $300 for the repair, and of course, I could use the money quickly... lol

Anyways, she was going to pay via PayPal using a credit card (the "No Account" option), which I have done dozens of times in the past.

Problem is, PayPal won't accept ANY of her cards (We've tried 3), which all have plenty of money. She called her bank and they said everything seems fine, they don't know why the cards wouldn't work.

So it's fucking PayPal refusing to accept her credit cards... I'm guessing it's because she had an account back in the day, and for one reason or another, they are pissed off at her, so when they see the name and address, they deny it.

The Message:
The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number.

From what I've seen online, PayPal does this A LOT! And no, there is no specific reason for it.

So my question is, does anyone know of any other quick way to accept a credit card payment? I was counting on this money for a few things this weekend... And if those don't happen, I'm gonna kill someone.

I also think it's definitely time to look into a cheap merchant account online one of these days...

PayPal just sucks ballsack more and more...
 


I've been using 2checkout for years and I've never had a problem. As for paypal... if she had an account in the past they will definitely deny the card if it links to her in any way and her account was closed/frozen.

She could always just use western union and you could get the money asap... I think it's like $15.

Argh... Well, I found the solution. Im gonna drive 110 miles down to Tucson and pick up the cash. I'm takin off in a few minutes. Thanks guys.

Yea that's what everyone here would do but unless you're gonna link her (which won't be that big of a commission anyway) then I'd keep my mouth shut and accept the money. :music06:

She got quoted almost $600 for the repair, and WAS GOING TO PAY IT... I'm saving her 50%, and my cost is $140... So it's a quick $160...

And ChrisS - Dude, I am LOVING the fucking gas prices!! I just filled up at $1.61 a gallon!!! I haven't done that shit since I was like 18!

The whole trip to Tucson tonight costed me about $15 in gas total... Which was about a 265 mile round trip.

You can't beat that with a fuckin stick!

Anyways, I just walked in, Im hittin the sheets :)
