So I've been speaking to Facebook's legal team for the past week. I'm trying to understand what made them shutdown the FB Ad Manager.

They said they never allowed it and never knew about it...

So I need to show proof that the FB Ad team did know about it. I do know some used it themselves. Also at Ad Tech NYC (last year) they were actively showing the tool at their booth.

However I need proof!

If anyone has any names, emails or any hard proof that show FB knew about the tool it would greatly be appreciated.

Please email me at lorenzo at mrgreen.am

I hope to bring it back like Justin did with sexy.

Cheers,
Lorenzo

I think Fb's ad team is full of shit on this one. Facebook cannot dictate how their customers (users and advertisers) consume the content facebook serves them.

There was a case recently very similar to this one between SkipScreen and Mediafire. Mediafire was mad cuz SkipScreen skipped all their popups and ads and directly let the users download the files. MediaFire then sent legal threats to Mozilla to take down the plugin, but EFF defended them. Check it out - it's pretty interested and extremely relevant.

That's like facebook suing adblock plus saying that adblock plus violates their ToS by disabling ads.

Heck, contact EFF and see if you can offer you council.
