I'd figured to ask the awesome Wickfire crew instead.

When signing up for AdWords did you open your account with the Starter Edition or the Standard Edition?

Is there any advantage to creating your account in a currency other than $US dollars?

Is AdWords Editor worth the download or is there a better tool available?

Why are you unable to to change currency but able to create multiple accounts? Does this mean If i start a campaign on one account that I can't run another campaign for the same domain in another account but with different currency?

I'm hoping to get some good answers really soon as I'm in the middle of creating my account right now and stopped to get feedback from you guys...

is this the same lee that partyed it up with me at asw?

I like the Adwords editor - it's not perfect, but it's free. There is a paid third-party program around - mentioned on another thread I think.

The only thing that bugs me with it is you can't use "" and [] for exact and phrase matches when entering keywords.

Regarding currency, you'd definitely be better of in Dollars than Pounds or Euro as you can get clicks for 1c instead of 1p or 1 euro cent. There might be a better (weaker) currency though where you could get clicks for the lowest denomination - not sure. I was going to experiment with Rupees or Yen, but not had time yet.

The adwords editor is good for what it does. The main advantage for me is the easy cut and paste between campaigns. There are 2 other products I know of that interact directly with the Google Adwords api.

One is called adwords dominator. It's about the same as the Google editor but with some nice graphs but I've never used it. I use keyword companion, it's pricy, support is not the greatest and it won't transfer the campaigns unless you have everything perfect. It's one big advantage is that it includes a list manager so you can break a huge list into multiple campaigns and adgroups.

I would suggest trying the free Google editor first then try the other tools if you don't like it. Just don't think of doing a lot of Adwords campaigns without some offline tool. It will save you soooo much time.

be careful with adwords editor, one time i entered a keyword like

chevry monte carlo, 70 (this was an auto gen kw from OV)....

well guess what, it set my bid at $70 and I blew through $3k in 4 or 5 hours

Yahoo\MSN keyword software

Is there a free tool to use with yahoo and MS to upload all your keyword in bulk (sync of course) just like the G Adwords software?

I think the currency thing has been covered above. I'm based in the UK but use US currency simply for the better exchange rate, ie $.05 is less than £.03. When you are accumulating clicks, every cent counts. You are right however, once you choose your currency, there is no turning back. Creating multiple accounts is possible, but to be honest, and I may sound just like a Google puppet here, if you use the same domain and the same keywords, chances are Google will figure it out and take action. Don't think it's worth it. In fact, am not really sure why you would want to. Just choose a currency and run with it.

Also mentioned above, the Adwords Editor is definitely worth using. It's a helpful tool for many reasons, the biggest one, that it is free. I would recommend trying this one out first to see if it's functionality suits you. If you find there are limitations then I would look elsewhere.

Thanks for all the replies...signed up and dropped a few bills in there. familiarizing myself with it all now.

Not that I know of - but you can use the output to .xls feature of AdWords Editor to create spreadsheets you can upload through the Y and MSN gui.

Good Keywords is well, good. It doesn't allow you to upload to Yahoo or MS though, so not sure why you quoted that.

At least it allows you to upload to one of the main engines. Can you suggest an alternative that uploads to the others?

No it doesn't... does it? I can't find anything on mine that lets you upload - it just generates keyword lists. Am I missing something....?

The export to .xls tip is very useful - thanks.

Thought we were on the same wave length there ie it has functionality specifically to assist adding keywords to Google.
