Pretty good ice storm up here in Maine. Over 200,000 homes without power - crews are only clearing the roads of down lines and won't even start power restoration until tomorrow. I got lucky and still have power and dick rolls. Had one big pine branch break off and fell in my driveway - I heard it snap and it sounded like a gun shot. A few pics:

Thank god for tractors and chainsaws - testosterone levels were high this afternoon...

It just fucking snowed in Louisiana. I had 3-4 inches of snow on my car. Did I mention this was in LOUISIANA?

Screw ice storms. Two years ago we had a bad one here and power was out for the entire city of Springfield for two weeks. Last year we had one that was almost as bad.

I remember in North Carolina, we had 27" of snow overnight, and it didn't snow much more after that... it closed businesses for nearly 4 years, the govenor of NC declared it a state of emergency, we couldn't get enough salt and shit.

And the folks in my home state (michigan) were laughing their asses off. Where we'd normally have that shit cleared up by day 2.

Well all the snow came down yesterday and it's now 55F. Sunday it's suppose to be 70F. But 27" of snow overnight in NC? That's fucking crazy.

I use to live in Louisiana and NC and for snow to be in La it's a miracle. In NC it would light snow every now and then but people use to go crazy and we would get out of school quick. When I moved to Massachusetts it started snowing and I thought It would be like NC. I was ready for them to cancel school, I was thinking that the snows up to my knees there is no way they would have school. But yet they did. I learned a hard my freshman year of high school in the north. There is no such thing as a snow day only ice storm days. And those only came once in a blue moon.

Global Warming or Global Cooling.
Another reason why I think Al Gore is a dumb ass or a hustler.
Hey Al how-bout global temperature fluctuations, they've been happening for thousands of years now.
North West expected to be in the high 20s this weekend. I'm hoping for some snow here.

Ice storms, in Missouri? Never! :xmas-smiley-016:

This year's been mild so far, but I remember a few bad snow storms over the past few years. Was that ice storm 2 years ago, around the beginning/middle of January (MLK Jr. day weekend)? If so, all I can remember is that the ice storm caused the airplane I was flying to load up on extra fuel, and in exchange, AA put all of the checked baggage on another flight (it was either the bags, or the people). Got in to St. Louis, and the ice storm that was apparently causing havoc in the area turned out to miss anywhere close to my flight path.

Here in North East Wisconsin we have more snow than we have had at any point ever recorded. Looks like we are in for it this year.

It was fucking nuts here in central Massachusetts. Lost power at about 4am, was told that I wouldn't have power til Monday, but luckily it came on around 7pm. Some of my friends won't have power til Monday though, pretty shitty, especially with it being 30 degrees and not having any fucking heat. My yard has about 3-4 feet of water in areas too, not including about 10 trees that fell. Some shitty pics that don't show the depth but some of the flooding -
