I don't like the first one. It's not clear what you're saying.
Also, most Americans don't associate their support of the military with all of the people killed around the world by the American military.
Maybe something about bailouts, or romneycare would hit them closer to their fault line.
Or Abortion. After all, most right wingers think it's horrible to abort a fetus, but totally ok to bomb a 3 year old.

This election system is very unfair.
All the republicans will be at work and many won't be able to get off of work in time to cast their vote. This obviously isn't a concern for the democrat welfare leeches as they will be out in droves making sure Obama is back for another term.

Eh, it was meant more so to be a jab at em', to show them the atrocities of war that go on under Obama are the very thing they advocate for as Republicans with increased military spending and interventionism.

"Leftist" groups tend to be who push to make election day a holiday and they have achieved this in many countries.
Not all Republicans will be at work - some of them are also "welfare leeches", but what might be the major group that Republicans are most dependent on is retirees, and they vote in droves. A 70 year old is over twice as likely to vote as a 20 year old. Democrats win many elections among "working ages", but the jobless retired people vote swings the final result to the other side.
Age 18 to 29 is the least likely to vote. After that it is 30 to 39. Anything done to make it more convenient for them is going to tend to help Democrats.
