I just signed up with maxbounty and was planing on getting back into affiliate marketing. However it seems I'm a tad bit lost, the last time i did aff marketing was back in 07. Now there are all these new tools, rules, and ways to push offers.

Anything worth reading up on before i start pushing offers using my old and probably outdated methods?

1. Don't submit articles to EzineArticles - they won't rank #1 within 2 days.

2. Don't bid $0.05 on Adwords - you won't get any clicks and will probably be banned for promoting affiliate offers.

3. EMDs are considered an "over-optimization" nowadays...

P.S. On a serious note, it's all the same shit, except forget SEO/Google bollocks and build a real business, rather than licking Google' ass begging to rank your "useful" Wordpress blog with "relevant" links. Reading some of CCarter's threads in the "Enlightened Members" section might help.

How were you planning to drive traffic? I have had some success on Youtube... depends on the niche though

I plan on using paid traffic, and use the ad spots on my site instead of adsense. I pretty much decided on what to do, thanks for all the input.

You're doing it all wrong. You need to post on Wickedfire more and refer people to networks via signature link, that way people that know what they are doing will make money for you.
