I don't understand the longterm effects of links on a domain that's been "dropped" and/or has had multiple registrars and/or has been 301d at some point. Are all links prior to these events happening ignored or partially diluted afterwards? I'm unable to click past the 5000 pages of whitehatknighting faggots talking about Matt Cutts videos and PageRank or I wouldn't have posted sorry.
Aside: The Chinese and Japanese have seemingly scraped the entire internet for expired domains worth a fuck and I don't know what to do about it. (In b4 CC goes on a tirade about only buying domains for traffic. :bigear
No the links are not partially ignored or diluted - if they were there would not be such a massive aftermarket of people looking for dropped domains with backlinks.
"SEO, what a fucking waste of time." I personally think you should buy expiring, dropped domains that have traffic with your target audience since you are going after domains with keywords in your niches or at least topics if you researched what the old website did - skipping the need for that SEO step and go straight for the traffic, but to each his own. Something about leading a horse to water... something something... Some people have to learn the hard way
