OK, never set up a site like this before, but I figure, why the hell not?
Between me and a few otaku friends, we have a shitload of domains that could potentially contain some very visually appealing material.
So, what I'm wanting to do is setup a site HotorNot.
You all know the sites.
Basically, you've got the random image that shows up with a rating bar underneath, maybe a few other randoms underneath, and links to the favourites, the most viewed, etc., etc.
It's almost paramount that people be able to upload their own pics to this.
Still not sure if they should have to sign up to be able to do that. I suppose they should, just in case they post anything that could get potentially be legally problematic.
So, my questions:
Is a wordpress install able to handle this with a decent image gallery plugin? If so, what plugin do you recommend?
If it's not, what CMS does handle something like this and comes with some easy to install plugins? I've got a little experience with Joomla, zero with Drupal.
Once I get the site up and running, have a bit of good content up there, I will gladly share some of it, which should be pretty fun
