are u talkin about the Google ads on the right? it took me like 10 sec to realize they're even there, due to the huge gap between the body and the left and right columns.

try putting a small box at closer to the menu bar or even under or above the body listings.

It is kind of boring, livin it up a bit. You might have to lose the no frills thing but for a higher ctr I think its worth it.

Only seo and classified postings. Mainly by word of mouth, through property agencies and clients.

yea, I was thinking of adding more ad units as well. in the body sounds good. :) thanks.

For that ad unit, in that position, that's a pretty decent ctr.

You need to stick a **blended** large or medium rectangle unit in their face if you want to up your ctr.

You could also try a blended horizontal link unit near your breadcrumb links and/or a blended verticle link unit in your nav column but your not going to get rich with those either.

I would add at least 2 more ad units- and make them more central. Google publishes a heatmap as to where the eye tracks- and currently the ad column is almost off the page- separated from the content. If you can blend content and ads, your CTR will go up.

Seconded. Plus, bright orange attracts the human eye a lot more strongly than slate blue, especially on a gray and white page.

Dude my best Adsense sites have 3% - 4% CTR.

Top and left are the best places for ads.

and remember. CTR is relevant only to the amount of traffic.

If you have 10 times more traffic and CTR lowers you still make more than before.

I'm doing about 9% CTR... I reckon your content is too relevant to your ads. The trick seems to be give visitors what they want in the search listings, but NOT what they want in your content. Therefore they are compelled to click an advert. Works for me, but I'm looking over my shoulder for that adsense ban when Google sniffs out this partic MFA... of course if your primary business model is selling classified space then I dunno, adsense kinda drags the whole site quality down imo...
