Just bought a shit ton of exact match .infos on Godaddy, mainly for throwing up some autogenned sites for my network.

Am I making a mistake using Bob Parsons' much hated registrar and being blinded by the <$1 reg fee? Am I missing some other registrar offering similar priced infos with privacy?

Btw, the dns management console is a bit of a nightmare. Anyone written a CURL/php script to automate nameserver changes?

Also, is it true Godaddy/Domains by Proxy release the whois info on a whim? And that they will delete your domain for spurious reasons like a bit 'o webspam?

(In before "Welcome to 2007" etc.)

And tits:

The problem with the privacy is that you may get it free for the first year - then they hit you with another $10 (privacy) + $10 for domain fee the next year. In addition, they setup another business which they claim is seperate to handle the whois privacy. So to cancel the privacy you'll need to plan ahead the contact this "other" company that handles just that. Once cancelled with them, you can go back to your godaddy account and renew the domain for $10 bucks. Assuming you didn't check the auto billing feature they slammed down your throat when you checked out initially.

It's just a shady practice so I prefer namecheap.com.

Godaddy is too complicated and greedy. I hate it when they try to sell you a lot of un-needed things. Maybe some non-IMers fall for them? I also use namecheap - it is clean and quick.
