webhostinghub.com is hacked by him too. all my sites on shared plans are compromised with 'hacked_page' file in every add-on site directory

I have a VPS with them. VPS and dedicated boxes were impacted as well.

As mentioned, if you have backups of your index.php files, you can replace these via FTP.

ya pretty lame hack job, all he did is swap the index files

Is that all he did or all you have found? The two aren't one in the same.

silly ignorant fools.. lemme guess, you use Go Daddy, and no I didn't find him at dickrolled

You seem pretty ignorant to me by the prior quoted post. What's the point of defacing a host and their accounts if you don't back door into them and find some way of monetizing the sites, or at the very least leaving yourself another way in?

Godaddy sucks major ass as well, they just happen to charge you for all they can before and while they fuck you over.

Hi Everyone,

This is Brad with InMotion Hosting. I just wanted to stop by and drop a few links for those users finding this thread and still need help with their defaced site / directory listing page.

If you have not been able to get your site back up, please see the following page for further assistance:

You can also read a message from our company president here:

If you're interested in finding more info about the issue, the second link above has more details.

Thanks,

I can't stress enough when choosing a web host, to only consider hosting your website with a host who proudly discusses "security" within the top fold of their home page.

Best to steer clear of any web host who's claim to fame are bursting at the seams cleavage or a spotty security record (hacked repeatedly in the past).

There are low cost hosting companies who provide free malware scanning with shared hosting plans. You'll wish you had your host watching your back when Mr. hacker comes a knocking on your door...

If you host a wordpress or joomla site not hosting with a web host who monitors your site for malware is pretty sad, since there are many who do probably for less than what you are paying now.

If more people hosted their sites with hosts who do daily malware scanning I would be out of business. :)

and what the fuck is this post? This is Wickedfire, if people are too lazy not to learn the basics of server security then they don't deserve to run a successful website.

Sadly though you could be a super security genius and still be hacked.

All it takes is a zero day hack or a compromised wordpress plugin (which up until "yesterday" everyone on the planet thought was perfectly secure).

The only real security is proactive monitoring, hour by hour surveillance, and at least a daily backup recovery plan, such that when you are hacked your can resolve the matter before it becomes catastrophic or a business-ender.
