A guy I know is a gemstone cutter. He buys rough gems and cuts them.

If you're interested in how gem stones are cut and that kind of stuff (or just like pictures) you can feel free to take a look. I like his picture documentary kinds of things.

On the off chance you're ever looking for some non-diamond gems shoot me a PM and I'll see what discounts he has going on. My wife currently has a 2.25 carat sapphire ring that no one would believe the price on.

Flawless Facets

End of shameless plug.

I know a pro gemstone cutter by trade. I mined some oregoneon sunstones myself (14 hours of driving from LA, yeesh). I should probably look into getting them cut, polished, and set. Makes good gifts for the ladies.

after watching those travel channel shows about gem hunting It always makes me wanna go out and do that shit. Anyone know of anyone who does this for a living? From what i hear on the travel shows people can make some good cash in a single day of doing that stuff. Imagen making it your everyday job while doing marketing on the side. CHA-CHING.

got blue sapphire or diamond ?

He does not cut diamonds - that's basically an entire separate discipline. He can get them but it's not a lot different than buying them from any other diamond wholesaler.

He definitely has blue sapphires though - my wife got a 2.25 carat one from him for a ring.
