IP City Location with PHP?

I want to get more specific demographics for my campaign targeting. Is there a way to trace an IP to a specific City/State so I can log my traffic better?

This site is amazing with it, but I don't need anything complex:
IP Address Locator - Enter an IP address to find its location - Lookup Country Region City etc

Just want a fast-working code that will log by City.

Any suggestions?

It's unfortunately not free, but I think they might be using this. MaxMind does have a free version that only does countries, though.

I'm not looking for that locater specifically, just using an example that it can be done.

I want free only....$370 + $90/mo to keep it updated is too steep at this point.

They have Geolite City that they say is slightly less accurate whatever that means.

Maxmind is really the only thing that is available. Webhosting.info haev a GeoIP database available also.

Googling "php geoip database" should land you with scripts that manipulate these databases for you.
