The HTC One is so much better.

As much as I agree the 5s lacks in innovation, your chart proves nothing. They simply manipulate the stats and use different terminology to sway the argument their way. The phones are all fairly similar (hardware wise)

At the end of the day the App Store is > Play store. And that is what will sway me into buying one.

I'm genuinely interested, what makes you say the app store is better than the play store? Are there apps that are only available on iOS?

I have owned an iphone 5. Apple stuck with 1gb of ram 2 gb makes a massive difference for me. The PPI is only 326 compared to HTCs 468. Ios 7 is trash. Worse speakers, slower start up time, worse front camera.

Yes, the iPhone is not the most powerful smartphone out there, but it doesn't make it a piece of shit. I don't understand the necessity of having a phone with 16 cores and 64 GB of RAM just for playing. Don't even mention the MegaPixel rat race.

Do you need such a powerful phone just for browsing Facebook? The iPhone is not created to be the most powerful terminal in the market, it's designed to make customers happy, and that's what it does.

inb4 Samsung S5 (or C5 lol) with footprint censor.

Seriously. Phones are so powerful nowadays, the small differences between the iphone and android phones don't even matter.

Hell, I remember 7 years ago when my PC only had 256 mb of RAM. Nowadays, smartphones have quadruple that amount of RAM.

It all boils down to comparison. Disregarding timelines, the 2013 iPhone 5s is a piece of shit when you compare it to an HTC, but it's a work of God when you compare it to my shitty old Dell 2006 PC.

From my perspective, as long as the phone completes whatever job you want, it's fine. Like you said, why use the phone for something more powerful than Facebook. Gaming? Give me a break.

Yes, and the Apple app store is much more stringent on the quality control.

I really notice this when I download games for my daughter for android vs iOS -- there is so much crap that gets through on android that doesn't work properly/crashes constantly.

Does anyone else not even care anymore, phones are so god damn amazing now.

Holy shit yes. How fucking indignant do we all become nowadays if a company doesn't completely change the world on each iteration of a product? Jesus christ.

And comparing phones with a table of data is like comparing sports cars with a table of data. On paper, a Ferrari and a top end Corvette are comparable, but...yeah.

I'd say we're all pretty damn lucky to be enjoying the level of technology we have today. Who gives a crap if one had 18TB of storage vs. the other brand with 15TB. It's all just a distraction from the real world no matter how you look at it. If the phone can make calls, texts, get some emails and take a decent photo, then it's done it's job IMO.

Did I mention I'm thinking of converting to Amish.

I'm so bored of smart phone tech. It's pretty amazing that I can get bored of a phone call, e-mail, and text messaging solution packed into a handheld device, yet here I am.

I'm more bummed out that smart phones aren't replaced yet. It's pretty cool that video streaming is mainstream now, but I hope some bigger things kick off with the Google Glass as an everyday item in the next 24 months.

This technological stone age is taking forever to get through. I want to see some more breakthrough shit before I die. I'm ready for smart phones to become pagers.

Great video about apple patents

The shit we're all going to be using in 5 years is going to be absolutely ridiculous. 10 years? Inconceivable at this point. 20 years? I doubt anyone can even get close predicting it.

Stop complaining and do something about it then.

The app store is just better than G's play. The best apps always comes to iPhone first before they come onto Android. Normally the gap can be 5-6 months. It's like osx and windows, the more beautiful well designed apps are still on OSX despite the marketshare of windows. I have been an android user since 2008, but I am ready for the switch.

Fuck iPhone. Samsung s4 is far better than 5s.

I have an S4, it's a good phone. Frankly I think a lot of the things it was billed as having where gimmicks. The eye scrolling, hover touch and swipe. All that was pretty much bullshit. I can't get the shit to work - period. The stock firmware isn't anything to brag about, standard Verizon bloatware on mine. In fact despite the "much better specs", the stock firmware feels sluggish. I've had to resort to running custom firmware which has remedied a lot of the crap I hated.

Now I'm not saying I will get an iPhone, but I'll probably check it out. If it performs well at those specs I may even switch.
