Most people know cops aren't very bright, but it's funny to hear that they won't even interview people with moderately high IQ's.

A man whose bid to become a police officer was rejected after he scored too high on an intelligence test has lost an appeal in his federal lawsuit against the city.

Jordan, a 49-year-old college graduate, took the exam in 1996 and scored 33 points, the equivalent of an IQ of 125. But New London police interviewed only candidates who scored 20 to 27...

I think it's because smarter people are more likely to question the status quo and rock the boat. Look, he's suing them. looooooool

^^ or this. How many of you smart fellas want to be a beat cop? Fuck that.
 
Maybe it's because smart people will realize they are being paid $50k/year or whatever to confiscate several times that in illegal, uncatalogued amounts of narcotics (not to mention cash) and hand it over to their bosses.
 
Woah now.. Can't have cops that are fair and can use logical reasoning..

You need cops that do whatever the fuck with their peanut brains, so they can scare the people around them into submission.

I believe here in the U.S. of A, the general rule of thumb is IQ < 100, penis size < 5 inches. That could just be an vicious rumor though.
