Is 1&1 Horrible When It Comes To Canceling Domains?

They've got cheap .info's right now and I need a ton of them... but after seeing some reports about it being a PITA to cancel, it might not even be worth saving a few bucks.

Any experiences good or bad?
 


They sent a collection agency after me after I did not renew domains / hosting. Total bill they are trying to collect is like $30.

Is this more asshole or idiot move by them?
 
1and1 sucks big. worse hosting company. u drop an email to support and you get reply after a week..people who handling supports sections are having less knowledge than a 12th student.
even if they give u a info free,dont go with them.what the profit in having issues with your sites when you need them to be up really?
 
No problems buying domains from them yet. .com domains for like $4.99.

I hope these bad reviews are about their hosting, because I'll normally register a cheap domain and just change the DNS on it.
 
1&1 are by far and away the worst company online. Christ, I got rid of them about 3 years ago and a few months ago I got an invoice for a domain that was moved from them in 2007. This has actually several times. There are no positives to using 1and1.
