it's almost as if he's dropping multi-media linkbait ... and having it picked up by mainstream media, bloggers, and everyone in between... this and the saying bush hates black people ... just linkbait? i didn't watch, but everywhere i turn online doing other things, there's his damn name.

side convo - what other bands besides radiohead are banking online by themselves?

You don't need to be a marketing genius to get yourself talked about if there's already 100 million people wanting to know if you've had dijon sauce with your shrimps.

I don't know, sometimes there is such a thing as bad publicity (ie, Dixie Chicks) only time will tell with him. On a similar note though I think this will be hella good for MTV (bet their ratings on repeat shows went up) Taylor Swift AND Beyonce. And maybe even Lady Gaga and pretty much all the other random people that performed.

Btw, who was that group that was that girl and that guy performing Queen? She was hot. I would love to wear an outfit like that.

well Dixie Chicks actually piss off their own fans base.

but the fans love it when Kanye West and John Mayer being douchey.

Bad publicity sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. It's hard to tell at this point if it's going to help him, but radio stations everywhere have already banned his music, so it isn't looking too good so far.

but radio stations everywhere have already banned his music,

And yet no one banned Chris Brown's music....hmmmmm. Apparently it's ok to beat up a black woman and survive the music industry but take the spotlight off of a really cute little white girl for a few moments and the radio stations are up in arms.

(oh yeah. I went there)

stations around here banned Chris Brown's music.... for about a week, if that. Kanye's ban will be the same, besides country music stations, which don't play his junk anyway

Sigh. In this case, pretty much EVERYONE agrees West was in the wrong; back when Rihanna got beat, you could find people defending both sides, partially because there was a rumor that she gave him some STD. It's a lot more clear cut this time and has to do with the action, not the color. Take your "America is racist" bullshit out of here.

No offense Turbo, but you were all over that gay ass wedding entrance video when it came out (I think you even posted a thread about how cool you thought it was) - you do realize that was Chris Brown, right? I'm quite sure all the women that helped popularize that gay ass video made Mr. Brown a metric fuckton of money with increased sales of an old song, less than a month after he plead guilty to assaulting Rhianna.

Wait, really? Cause I remember it being 100% one sided "Wow Brown beats women", I'm not really sure how it could have been construed otherwise based on the photo released of her battered face, STD or not.
