Is this click fraud?

Okay so I'm a newb when it comes to fraud detection. I just started running on Pulse360 a week ago and have been seeing a lot of the clicks filtered out. I saw a couple of threads here on WF about click fraud on Pulse360 from a while ago and so that's kind of cause for concern. So does this look like fraud?

And I also don't know why half of them are showing up as a "question mark" where the network logo goes. It seems like that happens every time it gets hit a second time by the same IP.

It's not much, but so far I've spent $300 with zero conversions from pulse and $465 on a second tier ad network with 5 conversions. Prosper and Pulse are matching up with the number of clicks I'm being charged for though (in fact Prosper is over reporting the number of clicks by about 50.)

The rep I work with who emailed me for traffic helped me set up my campaign and has since completely disappeared. I haven't heard from him all week despite emailing him.

Also, any idea of how much money it's going to take to test with Pulse successfully and is it worth it? My highest CTR at Pulse is at .035% and my LP to offer CTR is hovering around 18% on Pulse and only 11% on the second-tier ad network.

Any advice?

You asked: "Is it worth it?"

...if you ask a dumb question, you'll get a dumb answer.

Alright that was a dumb question. It's Pulse 360, there's a lot of traffic, and I intend to figure it out by doing my own testing.

My main question was about click fraud. There's been a lot of talk about click fraud on Pulse 360 on WF. Is that evidence of it and what can I do about it if it is...

if you are only spending that much, you need atleast 15k to play with on pulse to get a campaign working. to have bids go from 1$ at 8am to 3$ at noon and 5$ at 2pm est all for the 3rd spot good luck bro, unless you got money to blow to get a high ctr and don't pause your campaign don't run on there. Stick with whats working for you.

There was a post a while back from chatmaster about some fuck was installing malware on peoples PC's and spawning a clickbot which ran in the background clicking on the ads hence driving down the ROI on campaigns forcing advertisers to pull their campaigns.

Seems this shit is still going on.

^^^ That is a really good idea!!! Why didn't I think of that. Prepare for all your campaigns to die in a fiery death of click overkill!

PS - find someones prosper install and you can really F with their conversion tracking by hitting their default postback url with a bunch of random subids. :-)

Not that I would ever do something like that.... hehehe

email me your account info and I will take a look at the traffic. not sure who your rep is but normally we are quick to respond if you approach. its possible your emails are not getting through.

At any rate send me your info so i can take a look.

if your bids are jumping like this it means your ctrs are not competitive with the guys in the top 3 positions. i can guarantee you the top ads on most of our partner sites are paying right around 1.00 per click or less in most cases. if your seeing a bid of 8.00 that means your current ctr is 8 times less than theirs.

happy to answer your or any one else questions here about how to improve ranking and get pulse profitable. i have done this in the past and many seem to find it helpful.

That's pretty serious. Bids at $5? Damn, I haven't seen that yet, most of my bids are around $1 like Joe said. But 15k to test is sort of steep for me at this point. I was expecting it to be a lot easier considering my rep "optimized" my campaign for the kind of offer I was running. Yet another day and no conversions. Second-tier ad network - six conversions - not profiting, but close to breaking even.

I want to just jump in and say that I have worked with Joe for years now and he is an awesome, stand up guy at Pulse360 and helped make me rich. Trust what he says and you will do well.

lots of factors on both our ends to consider before we can attribute why the sales are not coming through. Your page, creative, offer etc are all just as important (more so actually), than the sites we run you on.

At any rate i spoke with your rep and he will be reaching out shortly. We will work with you to get this back on track.

He optimzed your campaign by placing your ads on sites that have generally done well for berries or whatever rebill you're pushing.

If you have a shitty CTR theres nothing he can do about that, its down to the quality of your ad.

No I trust Joe completely, wasn't trying to bash him or anything. You're right Joe, my ads, creatives, and offer are definitely crucial to whether I'm succeeding or not.

Not trying to put the blame on anybody, I know better than that. I'm just confused because I AM getting sales on another ad network with all the same ads/lp/offer and just wanted to find out if click fraud was an issue. I'm glad you're working with me though Joe, my rep spoke to me and I'm ready to run another test. Let's hope we see some conversions today.

True you're right. Had some additional tweaking done today to the campaign, so let's see what happens.
