Isn't libertarianism just conservativism for poor people?

Not trolling though I might hit some people where it hurts. Seems to me libertarianism (or rather American Libertarianism) is becoming this? If you really have a bankroll or some assets or SOMETHING TO LOSE (social, economic or political) I doubt you'd willingly want to be a libertarian.

I think it's essentially economic conservatism with an emphasis on limited government and without all the social issue/morality shit that is such a big part of mainstream U.S. conservatism.

^ Basically.

But I see his point. Most rich are not libertarian (probably liberal like bill gates, buffet etc). Libertarianism, in practice, would be a problem for most rich people as that would open up the marketplace to more competition for them.

libertarians believe in the right of the individual. As such, large government that taxes and interferes is completely contrary to their main doctrine.

Rich people have a lot to gain from this political system, but the poor do as well.

Wealthy would see less interference in their finance because taxes on the federal level would be practically non-existent. Poor would see more choices in the free market. More competition means lower costs of goods, more jobs, etc.

Probably half the people I know that make over 6 figures are Libertarian. Of the ones who aren't, most are Conservative and the rest think politics is a big circle jerk and don't give a fuck who is in office as long as they get to keep their guns.
