Hi i'm a lurker out of the shadows, but that's irrelevant. Here's my dastardly scheme:

(please don't burn me for such an insidious idea, they come naturally to me)

I had a flick through Joel Comm's next Internet Millionaire reality show site and thought to myself what a deceptively clever and equally pathetic concept (ok, don't hurt me if you disagree Jon and co.). I then had a much more fruitful idea: Lets game it so that Jon wins - I really want to see you and Joel on a tandem bicycle!

I'm sure that the combined internet marketing talent of this forum could scrape enough votes to propel Jon into that top twelve - getting him to sign up might be a bit more of a problem.

WickedFire could even run a competition where people kept track of the number of votes. The top five refs could do a full, funny wf exclusive guide explaining how they made the traffic - a really cheesy comedy educational sticky thread to welcome newbies to the forum (the reception is really frosty - not that i'm complaining, i can understand why you don't want to be spammed with moronic threads [sorry, btw :anon.sml: ] ).

Discuss. Or just flame me hard, just don't ban me as i really do think this forum is a great melting pot that, when i've developed any considerable knowledge, i want to contribute to!

If not Jon, then at LEAST someone with enough balls and clout to really fucking put on a show.

It's a good idea though, and you're right... that would be some funny shit.

If Jon signs up, I KNOW we could make him win.

ideas are a great thing but I think Jon is the type of guy that will do his own creative thing and make millions..................just a guess from how well he has done so far and the projects he is working on.....but fuck yeah we would make it happen

I think a reality show about a bunch of affiliate reject foul mouthed greedy marketers pimping mortgage offers and porn on the net, that all stay in the same house and just live like rock stars...................thats sounds interesting to me

I was actually thinking more along the lines for Chrislingle: The Next Internet Millionaire. By the time the contest ended Joel Comm would probably be broke.

He should pick only girl applicants with big tits. He will get maximum internet viewership.

Absolutely not..

I would not signup for that shit or anything like it. I don't even like being a "web celeb" anymore. Look at my blog for instance. Lost tons of rankings on purpose on Google because I simply don't care anymore.

Over this last year I've been in the spotlight more times than my entire career, and I'm just not into it very much. I know there are lots of others who not only enjoy it, but need it to be popular or famous. I'm not one of those people. I like my privacy, and I would much rather be someone making bank behind the scenes rather than someone up in front in the spotlight.

If there were a way for me to go about changing that with WF when we first started, I definitely would have. You start learning first hand, that when you become the person everyone talks to or wants to meet or speak with, it's fun for the first few months, but it gets old and annoying really quickly. Especially since I go to conferences and public events, unlike these guru idiots who have their own paid private seminars and sit behind their computers' most of the year.

I do agree with Noel though.

Um, who are you again?

While that does create an image in my mind that will undoubtedly haunt me for weeks to come, I can say with assurance that this scheme would not work. Voting is only 50% of the first round for casting, with the other 50% being totally in the hands of the show producers.

Besides, Jon is already very successful online. And while I am sure he would be very entertaining, we really want to show regular people that they can make money online. :-)

Glad to see the illustrious Joel Comm popping his head in here. Even if the only time he does, is when someone mentions his name, or he wants to sell something. No ego there.

:D

I thought this was about Jon from WF turning down something like 6 million for this very site.

Nice to see this place retains it's unique.. shall we say.. flavor? I have a feeling if it was bought it'd turn 'corporate' realllly quick.

...and sell them crappy products.
