Affiliate Marketing Journey
I've been wanting to diversify into other ways of making money for a while, as currently most of my income comes from Adsense (with a bit from TLA, Adversal, and Revver).
A few days ago I was accepted by ShareaSale.com (aff) and have been browsing good merchants to join.
I'm not interested in PPC advertising as I'm more of a SEO type of person, and I'm also cheap.
I've spent today setting up a couple of affiliate sites using data feeds. Each page has a dynamic title, and I've used mod_rewrite to make the URL's SEO friendly.
Both domains are the exact keywords I am targeting (they are .net) and I'm hoping to see a profit on the $8.88 I invested on each site
Cool thing is, the merchant I am promoting has a 365-day cookie.
EDIT: Set up three sites now, all using the same merchant, but I focus on a small category on each one.
I'll move into different niches over the next few days.
Plan to open more of these datafeed sites (it's my own script, programmed it in like 3 hours, so it's a bit dodgy, but it works) and hopefully when I leave school (in 1.5 years) I'll be able to be makin' some alright passive income.
Oh, and does anyone have any tips on making a data-feed site more inviting for people to buy stuff? At the moment, on the product pages, I just have an image of the product, a description, the title, the RRP, the real price, and the "Buy this..." link.
