I use KeyCompete and love it. I can't vouch for spyfu, also look into keywordspy as it's similar.
 
yeah all there stats are like months off and most of the time the keywords they give you people are bidding on are just baloney except the regular ones like ringtones for example for a big ringtone site.

I got a good keyword tool, 3 actually:

- Google Keyword Tool
- Any piece of software that can combine up to 4 columns of keywords and put brackets or quotes around them.
- Your imagination

Vote for keywordspy here. I generally only use it at the start of building campaigns then its adwords tool all the way.
 
I made my own script that combines columns of words and exercises all combinations and then outputs a list in brackets. That and Google Keyword Tool and some other free keyword resources are all you need. Finding keywords for free is easy. The bitch labor or compiling a keyword list out of them.
 
I have a membership at spyfu, i like them but the resaults are a month or so old, witch i don't mind...
Like many others here saying get the software tools, I agree they are very useful.

It seems like you want to reverse google tool witch would be nice.
i haven't seen any tools that show up to date info.
