getting the following from google for almost all my keywords. Landing page is coming back OK from google - any ideas? keyword is set to exact. Thanks!

This keyword isn't highly relevant.

Based on the keyword's relevance to the associated ad text, CTR, historical keyword usage, and other performance factors.

ad:
free online class
powerpoint web training

copiatech.com

keyword: powerpoint web training

landing page:
powerpoint web training- a useful guide and facts about powerpoint web training

nobody has any thoughts? am i missing something obvious? my landning page URL is long, and yes, the landing page is not refined, but i dont understand the kw relevancy issue. google says the landing page is ok, but the relevancy is not?

So if I understand what google is saying, then I have 4 factors to deal with in terms of keyword relevance:

History - no real history, this campaign is new and the account is new
CTR - there is no CTR, new campaign
Ad Text Relevance - doesnt seem to be to far off, not talking oranges but showing apples
Other performance metrics - no clue!

So is this really just a history and CTR issue? anyone else have experience overcoming this out of the gate?

in theory your landing page has all the right things (aside from the god awful design) but it looks like you're keyword stuffing like a motherfucker.

I tried the landing page with and without some of the keyword stuffing. The keyword page returned better overall bidding numbers. I also changed the add so the KW is in the headline. I guess what I dont understand is this:

AD 1: comes back OK on relevance and landing page
PowerPoint seminars
free online class
sign up start learning now
copiatech.com

keyword:PowerPoint Seminars, exact match

AD 2: comes back poor on relevance and OK landing page
PowerPoint training
free online class
sign up start learning now
copiatech.com

keyword:PowerPoint training, exact match

since the landing page is being created dynamically with the keyword included all over the text, I don't understand what google is asking me to change.

yeah, the design sucks. My intent is to use the simple layout for testing purposes and then pay some to put up a landing page that does not look so hedious.

when I run googles Keyword tool against the site URL, I get this back:
microsoft powerpoint viewer 2003
microsoft powerpoint courses
microsoft powerpoint help
microsoft powerpoint downloads
microsoft powerpoint certification
microsoft powerpoint background
microsoft powerpoint tutorials
buy microsoft powerpoint
microsoft powerpoint software
microsoft powerpoint course
how to use microsoft powerpoint
microsoft powerpoint template
microsoft powerpoint 97
microsoft powerpoint templates
microsoft powerpoint design templates
microsoft powerpoint classes
microsoft powerpoint program
microsoft powerpoint tutorial
microsoft powerpoint upgrade
microsoft powerpoint download
learning microsoft powerpoint
learn microsoft powerpoint
microsoft powerpoint slide design
microsoft powerpoint
microsoft powerpoint mac
microsoft powerpoint training
microsoft powerpoint 2000 download
microsoft powerpoint 2002
microsoft powerpoint backgrounds
microsoft powerpoint 2000
microsoft powerpoint viewer
microsoft powerpoint 2003

along with some others that are about powerpoint. So it would seem google believes the page is about powerpoint and learning. anyone else have any thoughts? to keep the thread going ....

...........................

GOOGLEREP: The key factor to consider is the Quality Score of the keyword.
CHRISR: I got that part, what I dont understand is when the QS says landing page is ok, but keyword relevance is not. In the above example "powerpoint seminars" and "powerpoint training" one is considered relevant the ohter is not
GOOGLEREP: This article explains how quality scores are used for keywords:
GOOGLEREP: Google AdWords Help Center: How is my keyword's Quality Score used?
CHRISR: i have read that aritcle
GOOGLEREP: So the relevance is calculated for each individual keyword.
GOOGLEREP: Relevance is based partially on the performance of the keyword in your account, the relationship between your keyword and your ad text, the historical performance of the keyword overall, and the landing page quality.
CHRISR: got that part. I dont understand how PowerPoint Seminar is relevant, but PowerPoint Training is not.
CHRISR: So, is the issue that there is no historical performace? If you look at the ads in my account, I think you will see why I am confused.
GOOGLEREP: Which account?
CHRISR: go to client ID --------------
CHRISR: campaign microsoft office
CHRISR: adgrops: PowerPoint Training, PowerPoint Seminar
CHRISR: look at the QS guidance in both. thanks.
GOOGLEREP: Let me get in there. One moment please
GOOGLEREP: Ok. Looking at the difference you will see changes to the relevancy factor as your accrue more impressions and clicks.
GOOGLEREP: Additionally, please know that while these two keywords are very similar to our system they are entirely different and may have very different historical performances
GOOGLEREP: Additionally each may related differently to the ad text you have created.
CHRISR: Historical performaces -> you mean across other adwords accounts? As this is a new campaign for me.
GOOGLEREP: Yes that is correct

CHRISR: relate diffently to ad text -> can you clarify what I need to do to create change
GOOGLEREP: I would recommend creating additional ad texts that speak specifically about your keywords.
GOOGLEREP: Focus on working the keywords into the ad text.
CHRISR: gotcha. I have put the keywords in both ad text. I can continue to write ads, but as the keyword score is about the keyword how will i see relevancy for each new ad if one ad is considered not relevant?
GOOGLEREP: The best way to test ads is to see how the users respond.
GOOGLEREP: So look at the CTR for each ad
CHRISR: I understand that has I get traffic, but the KWRelevancy issue is put on the KW immediately before traffic is generated. What can I do besides working KW into the ad to improve that so Google does not hit it with a low QS because of relevancy? I am sure you can see from me reading both ads they appear equally relevant to the keyword - how am I to know what Google feels is relevant?
GOOGLEREP: I understand your concern here. I would recommend trying different ads to see the impact. Please know that relationship to ad text is not the only factor. To be clear there is currently no way to see a rating related to the ad text.
CHRISR: gotcha, so the recommendation would be to remove ads and try new ones until I see a good keyword relevancy score?
GOOGLEREP: You can do that but at some point if you believe you have written high quality ads which it appears you are, you may need to recognize that the system is viewing the keyword to have low relevancy due to other factors that the ad text
GOOGLEREP: Specifically it could be the historical performance of the keyword overall.
CHRISR: gotcha. However,if that is the case, since Historical performance is from other campaigns, then there is nothing I can due - is that accurate?
GOOGLEREP: Yes it is something that impacts all advertisers.

CHRISR: thank you for your time!
