Does anyone know if inverted keyword terms really have the same search volume as non inverted? As an example using the keyword tool "best keyword" pulls 33,100 monthly searches as does "keyword best". Coincidence? Try a bunch of examples and same thing.

Main reason I ask leads me to my second question. Lets suppose that "keyword best" does get 33,1000 searches and I want to make a site on the best keywords. bestkeyword.com is taken. keywordbest.com is not. (its really not in case you want it). Does google give me points for having a domain with my keyword inverted?

I don't know about the traffic numbers and I don't know what's up today, but I tried this once before. Actually, I was entering a niche I wasn't familiar with so I accidentally started targeting a "keyword best" type of phrase without realizing I wanted "best keyword." It's really funny in hindsight because I thought I was hot shit finding this untapped keyword.

Long story short, I failed miserably. It could have been many other factors, but I think even then Google was pulling some variation of their "We think you meant 'best keyword' so we're showing results for that" thing. So I was still competing with everyone targeting "best keyword."

Keep in mind, I was not using an EMD for this, so I can't answer your question!

Question for you though - have you tried this search using phrase match and exact match rather than broad match? Because I just checked and those stats you listed are for broad match.

Broad match sucks because it gives you these false stats. That was the root cause of my downfall I mentioned earlier. If you check "phrase match" and [exact match] you'll see the figures are drastically different! For example, phrase match shows 2900 searches vs 260! Huge difference!

yes, it seems like you are using broad match, i fell into that trap before and thought i was getting an untapped niche with an unregistered emd , haha
