Anyone ever heard of these before? sunlight therapy lamps, etc.

They cost $100-$200, and apparently they are lamps that mimic sunlight, and if those work, then it's going into my house faster than a fatboy eats chocolate cake.

For instance, when it is sunny, I am more productive, creative, my mood is better, i am proactive, etc.

When it is cloudy and the weather is crap, i am less productive, and i don't feel like doing anything at all.

Where I live, the weather is shit 90% of the time. So fake sunlight would definitely help me out.

I bought a light that was like this when I was living in Minnesota it was blue leds and you were supposed to have it on your desk shining at your face for like 30mins. It cost $100 and it was by phillips I don't know if it really helped or not the concept was cool. I solved my problem by moving back to Florida.

Much cheaper way would be to get "cool white" bulbs, rather than warm white. They're a more blue-ey spectrum, and similar to sunlight, whereas the more common warm white ones are slightly red, and aren't too good at mimicking sunlight.

I have a "sun light lamp" from Lamps of America that I bought at some garage sale or thrift shop a while back and I love it. I'm not so sure about the whole "imitating sunlight" thing, but it puts out a really bright clean white light that helps me feel wayyy more awake, productive, and just happier. I also bought a few bulbs that actually put out the same kind of light, but I can't remember the brand for the life of me. I think I got them at a drugstore, but they work just as well as the lamp and actually light up the whole room instead of just a table.

Anyways, to answer your question, they do exist and they should be going into your house "faster than a fatboy eats chocolate cake."

Get a Philips goLITE Blu... they aren't full spectrum and thus don't blind the shit out of you and it's a hell of a lot better than a cup of coffee. I've actually gotten a buzz off of it. Check Amazon.

Highly recommended.

this is the light I had, square thing full of leds. I never felt the effects though.

I had one gifted to me a while ago.

Does a decent job delivering on what it offers, though it's definitely no replacement for good ol' natural light.

Solatubes look fucking awesome though!
