Landing Page on an App Install offer

I am buying mobile traffic and getting +2% CTR on my banners, which compared to my experiences on POF is phenomenal. However out of almost 300 clicks on my banner I've only had two conversions. The offer is an app install and I'm direct linking them to the app store.

Do people use landing pages on app installs? It seems like such a small commitment on the consumers part that you wouldn't need to pre-sell them.

You usually have to pre-sell most things. I mean clicking on an AD and going straight to an APP without additional incentive on why I should install the APP, sounds like it's going to result in lower conversions overall.​

I use pre-sells even for email submits. Imagine direct linking and getting a 10% conversion, whereas with 40% LP CTR and 50% opt in you get 20% CR. With the second option you can afford bidding 2x as high.
