landing pages clickable areas

Ice,

I tend to keep specific regions clickable. Clearly defining in your own mind where clicks should be focussed will also make it pretty clear for your visitors that where the intended hotspot should be.

Doing it this way seems more like a proper site structure - even if its just an LP linking straight to an affiliate checkout page.

You can also create a viewing "funnel" which you can use to draw the eye and drive clicks. I have ound this works pretty well on pages with Adsense /CPA type offer.

you can also use newegg to see where people are clicking.

I guess you mean crazyegg.

Everything that can be clickable (photos, buttons, headers, banners) I make clickable. I use clickheat to determine where people usually click. Surprisingly they tend to click on photos a lot, on my LPs at least.

I alway use Crazyegg for testing. Its amazing what people will click on.. Testing interest points on a page is a fantastic way to visually optimize a page for conversions.

I might try clickheat. CHeers for the heads up Finspin

yes I already have a crazyegg test running (but on a different type of landing page)

I meant, we've already paid for that visit, after that all I want is maximize the CTR to the advertiser's landing page

I use to make everything clickable on single offers landing pages and I wanted to see what everybody is doing

1- the visitor is dumb, sees the pointer turn into a hand and hits the mouse button

2- the visitor isn't a total computer illiterate and gets suspicious when realizes that everything can be clicked

sure there's a big difference from an niche to the next

I think my curiosity comes from the 2 kinds of visitors I specified above (this line remained in my head while writing the post...)

I used one of those click heat things on one of my landing pages and noticed a lot of people were clicking on images that weren't linked. So I linked them and it seems to be working out well.

almost 90% of the people click through now to the offer. Not saying the ones who randomly clicked will convert, but at least you are getting more people to the offer who otherwise wouldn't
