Hello Everyone!

I would like to ask you to help me to make a pretty serious decision in my life.

I am a 21 years old guy.

I have a very little experience in internet marketing and I have almost zero technical skills (programming, webdesign...) and I want to go to a school to learn webprogramming so that I will do IM more easily and comfortably.

I've got 2 options right now.

In my country I can learn web programming during a 2 year long period. It is totally separate from college. I dropped out of college btw, I studied psychology.

So here are my options:

A,
I can learn web programming by going to school every weekday from 8 am to 3 pm. This for two years.

Advantage:

-I probably learn web programming very thoroughly.

Disadvatage:

-It takes a LOT of time and I will have less time time to work on my online business

B,
I can learn web programming in a way that I gotta go in to school only 1 or maybe max. 3 days a week. This for 2 years.

Advantege:

-I have a lot of time to work on my online business and can learn webprogramming on my spare time based on the teaching and instructions I get from that one or max. 3 days of school

Disadvantage:

-I may not learn web programming as thoroughly as I would if I would go to school every weekday and learn that way

C,

I can learn it all on my own from the internet and books.

Advantages:

-Freedom.

Disadvantages:

-I tried to do this before and I did not work. I did not have enough will power and direction to do it.

----
BTW I can choose from harder and easier schools. You know ones with more famous name and ones which are less known and probably easier, lighter. Which one do you suggest? Harder or easier?
------
My plan is to build up a few $K / month passive income by the summer of 2011 and start paid advertising affiliate marketing by September 2011.

I think that the 1-3 days a week option is better because I think that I have to act fast in the IM world because it seems like it is becoming harder year after year.

I would like to hear your opinion. Please help me because this decision is very important.

You may give any tips.

Thank You!

WHy do you need to go to school to learn web programming. Learn it yourself. Pick up a few books.. Clone a few websites/services/features for practice.... there you go

^^^Agreed. You can't just be a lazy ass and say that you lack the necessary willpower. Well fuck. I lack the necessary willpower to wipe my ass. Now my sheets have a brown stain on them and my ass hurts like hell. Internet marketing, web development, and working for yourself is the same as wiping your ass. You've got to FIND the motivation. If you can't, you should give up now before you have a sore ass.

EDIT: WF worst analogy 2010 :D

Thanks, so I should not go to school to learn web programming , rather do it myself... Hmm... I'll probably choose the 1 day/week version then stop school if it sucks.

I'd choose that option because that would give me some direction on exactly what to learn to get to a good level in web programming and also I could tell people at least something about what I do because I don't like to tell people what I do until I make money from it consistently.

How could I amp up my willpower? I have goals. Please give me more tips. Or you can flame me if that makes you feel good:)

Thanks.

You have to be willing to sacrifice and work hard now so your life doesn't suck balls later. That's your motivation. If that's not motivation enough for you, you should just get a minimum wage 9-5 job and forget about ever being truly happy.

Okey the god aprt of the ;earning process is not that you take out time to learn something once every week... You learn it wehn you needed it. I nothing about HTML wehn I started to doodle around 8 months ago.

But I sat down andI learned what needed wehn i wanted it. That meant I wanted a one page lander that Looked like a banana, well then I Google for a second to see if there was something special about it downloaded dreamweaver and I started the failing race ;)If I decide to fuckaround whit HTML today so will I usually just do it in notpad2

oh yeah b ready to bang your head against the wall until you cry....

Thanks.

I'll probably choose the one day / week option, because that way after two years I'll have a solid foundation knowledge about web programming.

Any more advice is appreciated

Yes start no instead if in two years.. and coding is just one part off it all. if you plan to learn everything in school so will you be fucked in this pace.. You will probably be ready right at retirement to launch your first campaign

I plan to build some big adsense authority sites using thekeywordacademy.com as a guide. I'll do this for a year and then move on to paid advertising, aff. marketing and maintain the passive income on the side.

dont get sucked in to some teaching program... all the info you need can be found for free (a huge majority of it in this forum) then there's always free ebooks related to this among other resources

Honestly man, I don't even know exactly what you mean by "web programming" but I make a living from IM. I learned how to make blogger blogs, then I learned how to tweak html with a few basic tags, then I learned how to use wordpress. When I need software or scripts I buy them, when I have more time I'll learn how to make them with ubot or learn a coding language. I'm a very low tech guy, and I just learn whatever I need to get the job done and ignore everything else.

Don't get me wrong, I imagine the knowledge and skill would be helpful, but if it is going to take too much time away from your real hands-on experience with IM then I would say you should study on your own.
