My first mini-site - a lovely little niche with what I'm hoping will be a small amount of uniques a month but something to get me started, all search engine traffic like.
I thought it would be a good idea to get a crap load of backlinks to the site just to kick it off by placing it in my sig of a forum I moderate and gets quite a few users (despite it being worse than DP, seriously). Stupid, stupid, stupid - someone stole the idea already and it probably would have only made pennies anyway.
I know this to be the case because the search engines bring up nothing internet marketing/online stuff related for the search terms at all - and yet now a couple of ezine articles are ranking for the terms but putting an IM spin on it, even beating me in the SERPs.
Lesson learned: don't put nest eggs in public view for all to see!
