I've been in this business for some time but I'm still learning lessons the of hard knox. Most of the time I'm working and at my computer 14 hours a day. However yesterday I had to a trade show so I was out of the office all day.

Headed out around 7am and got home at 9pm. When I got home I found out the server I was running my Adwords traffic to was down all day. So I was paying 1-2$/click for a large volume of traffic to be sent to a DEAD server. Monitoring services are cheap relatively. I could have to paid for 10 years of monitoring for this costly mistake. I hope you can learn from my fuck up's and not make the same mistake. Go get some monitoring if you're running PPC. Then when you server goes down or apache crashes they just reboot it for you.

Owe my wallet hurts.

I started using HyperSpin the day Digg took my site down. :P Been very happy with it -- and the best part is that PowerVPS' NOC will get a eMail straight from them should my server go down and PowerVPS will take action within 3 minutes (as they say and from personal experience).
