I just found a cool tool that may benefit some of the medium to large sized affiliates/advertisers here.

The tool is called Live Ball from Ion interactive. It's a software-as-service that gives you endless control over split-testing landing pages and microsite experiences.

The cool thing is that it's a templeted system based on the Square Space platform and you can create all kinds of split tests w/o ever messing with code or uploading files to FTP or anything.

The tool is about a bazillion times more advanced than Google Website Optimizer, and will take you 1/2 the amount of time to set up tests (once you are set up.)

I won't get into all the advanced things you can do, you can check out the site: Landing page management & optimization software - ion interactive just wanted to share the tool since this form has been pretty much void of anything useful lately.

Also, the reason i say that it's for medium to large affiliate is b/c it's not super cheap. It's a minimum of $1,300 a month for up to 10k unique visitors. Plus it's a 12-month commitment. So may be out of the ballpark for Noobs. But i can say that split testing will easily pay for itself and then some if done right.

Also, you can use as many domains and users as you want. You just pay for traffic tiers.

I just signed up and i am starting my training for the software on thursday. I'll keep everyone posted on my thoughts as i start using it. I'll also keep you posted on the success i have with it.

ok, you guys can go back to talking about IP's and communist china now. kthxbye

Al right, so it's been a little over a week since i started using LiveBall. Here are some thoughts:

My initial impression is that it's by far one of the most advanced WISYWIG editors i have used. They skin your site for you and i can get it to look pretty close to my original site in the wisywig alone. It also has all kinds of really advanced rules you can set for your traffic, as well as the ability to segment everyone based on site behavior.

As far as the tests, once i learned some basics, setting up alternate page tests was really easy. I have created 3 site variations so far. Here is conversion data for them. Not that site path 3 is new and has only been up for 2 days, which is why it has way less traffic.

Another cool thing is you can track performance by traffic source. So one page may be converting better on google search, and another google content. You can also set it to auto optimize for each.

more thoughts to come...

Is this A/B or multivariate? Does it include calculations on when each test is statistically significant? Have you tried segmenting and if so, did it actually make a difference in revenue?

Their site contains nothing but buzzwords. Annoying

These tests are A/B. it does include calculations on when it is statistically significant and will auto-optimize for you when it reaches that point. I have created segments, but have not gotten to optimizing for them yet. Gonna wait to get more data.
