Log http request Windows XP

Been trying to figure out what remote URL is being fetched by a program I have. It is a http request for a plain text file.

Messed around with some firewall log viewers, no luck.

Any suggestions?

I must be using it wrong. I can only see the url being called, not the path.

Um... not sure how netstat would be useful for examining packets. Wireshark is a good, thorough analyzer for any protocol. wireshark.org, not .com. Bit of a learning curve but there's plenty of how-to's for beginners on Google.

Check out WireShark (Wireshark: Go deep.), a network packet sniffer. There's a bit of a learning curve and it may be over-kill for your needs, but it will definitely get the job done.

I read your post too fast, yeah, netstat just shows the url/ip for all open connections. Listen to fcu_1 and just use wireshark and you'll be able to view everything.

You should try Ethereal: A Network Protocol Analyzer. This is what I use to examine network traffic. Just click Capture with the correct network interface selected and start your program. You will be able to see all network traffic.

Ethereal is wireshark. They changed the name like three years ago.
