I signed up this morning for a Del.icio.us account so I could see what it's all about. I imported my bookmarks and then decided to delete a bunch of them. I guess my deleting clicks were too rapid because I have already been "temporarily blocked" by del.icio.us - for at least 30 minutes already. Damn twitchy delete trigger. LOL. I never thought little ol' me could get blocked from anything - especially during the first hour!

"Sorry, you've been temporarily blocked for accessing del.icio.us too rapidly. This could be the result of using a buggy, misconfigured, or malicious program. It could also be accidental on our part. Please hold off for a few minutes and try again later, in a gentler fashion."

Excuse my ignorance, but what benefit is there for joining del.icio.us?

having all your bookmarks available on the interwebs is fairly nice.

del.icio.us is one of many social bookmarking websites. What you do is to share with other social "bookmarkers" on your "favourite" websites!!!! .

This is another way of getting FREE TRAFFIC. List of Social Bookmarking sites.

The Best way is to join every Social Bookmarking sites. Therefore, everytime you published a new sites you can "Bookmarked" all this sites for a boost of traffic.

For me I use a simple software. SocialBot. to simplified the task.

ELVie, have you try Stumbleupon ??? I have a few success rate using them. You can also add friends to your profile. (something like myspace)

Hi pearz76,

I'm really getting into this social networking thing. I wish I found these sites earlier. I'm getting decent traffic from the new Netscape and Stumbleupon lately. Netscape has been the best traffic because people are actually posting and using the site. Netscape traffic completely dies off on weekends though so I'm guessing it's used by bored office workers during work hours.

I'll have to try out more from that list you linked to.

I wrote del.icio.us yesterday after I blocked myself a second time. They responded that their current system is over-sensitive with its blocking and they are working on the problem. It is triggered with too many edits during a specific period of time.
