they filed an extension for this year so I went in to finalize it and get it in here before the 15th..

perhaps someone more knowledgeable here can chime in on this fucked up situation..

she filed me as an s-corp this year as the tax savings are big. "keep in mind though, I filed 4 different corporations before apr. 15th this year, and 1 came back and they wouldn't allow it. so, there may be a chance they do that with you, in which case you would owe around $5,000 more." wtf? I made a bit less this year, so $5k more would be near 100% more of what I paid for 2011.

so that's a nice possibility looming over my head within the next 6-12 months, whether or not I'll receive a letter from the IRS saying "fuck you no, you're not an s-corp".

any idea as to why they'd deny someone? my tax lady apparently doesn't fucking know.

....and yeah, ditching her.

Only reasons that should ever happen is either 1) You added a non-US person as an owner of the corp (doubtful); or 2)if she didn't file the S-election (Form 2553) in time (way more likely).

Either way, get rid of her

This is what I thought had to be the case, to file for the s-election before the year that you wanted to act as an s-corp; but she said that changed and they made it so that you can file to become and seen an S-Corp when you're actually filing your taxes for the preceding year..

Keywords to your problems have been pointed out

I had an accountant like that once. Ended up costing me dearly. Mine told me the same thing, that i could change to a s-corp same year. WROOOONG. Least of the problems he caused me that year. Go out and find the most expensive accountant with the biggest fucking nose you can find and pay them. It'll be more up front but itll cost you less in the long run due to less mistakes/penalties/etc.
