I'd like some advice for what to do here. I have a lot of time but I'm having a hard time nailing down exactly what business I should start. I'm not really an IM newbie. I know how to so SEO and do some PPC although I haven't had anything that profitable. I have a new macbook air and a work ethic to go at it hard.

I also know some copywriting and have okish marketing skills. I'm probably going to get flamed but someone has to have some idea that they have no time to try and wants to see if it will work. There are just too many things I could do.

Something preferably scalable that I can build up over time. Any advice is welcome.

TLDR. Internet Wantrepreneur looks for advice on what to look at as a long term project.

Here are some tits for wasting your time.

I have been following this thread pretty closely and have finally been able to start turning a profit.

For me, sitting down and deciding where i wanted to end up with the project was pretty important. ie business plan.

More important then this however, at least for me, is setting daily actionable goals. ie. new blog post, interlinking, etc.

I was nervous to throw myself fully into one project for the longest time and was always wondering what if my niche sucks, what if the idea is stupid, but I feel diving in head first and testing and seeing what sticks and clearing your eyes of all the misinformation that is out there is a huge step. Once you can get a taste of a couple affiliate sales, adsense, whatever something flipped for me and helped me to realize that this could work and increased my motivation 10 fold.

You have to take a risk and you cant be afraid to lose money in the process. Once I finally said fuck it I'm going to stay on that cream of chicken Ramen diet and invest in my website with cash from the day job it changed my perspective. When my back is against the wall Its easier for me to stay motivated.

Pick a niche, learn your competition, find there gaps in content(this helped me rank to start ranking quicker for less compet. kws), then once you have some brand/link equity..take over more kws.

PS

Sell the gay Macbook Air for start-up cash.

If you need advise to do a Business , you better stick to 9-5 . Business just happens . and no one can give you advise to start a business . one thing which works for others may not work for you
