one night in about 30 minutes i whipped up this pong game as an easter egg for a 'serious business' app. today i posted it on my facebook, it got 20 shares, 80ish likes and in the first 30 minutes of tracking, several hours later, i recorded 60 uniques.

I know this shit is simple - but I figured id ask - Did I bring pong back or what?

im not a professional game dev, i hardly even play games anymore but ive seen 12 months of team effort, thought, days of research, endless testing, hearts and souls poured on top of games that couldnt get anywhere near that kind of traction. thought it was a trip :P

lessons learned:
1 use hot chix and music
2 take a game bug, make it suggestive ad copy
3 dont overthink it
4 dont overthink it
5 dont overthink whether i should apply not overthinking it to the app this game is to be an easter egg in.

I like this game but all those women make it difficult for me to play with myself.

To be honest, this is pure genius.
Trying to play it, makes me feel as if someone would tickle me from the inside.

This game is slow as shit. How about this- you start with an image of a fully clothed girl, every hit that you get she takes off one article of clothing, game gets harder/faster as you go on.

You could have a million dollar app there. Obviously you can't use the girls on play or app store but you could use something else maybe even more distracting. Its simple and addictive.

You can use them on Play for sure.

Needs more substance to the gameplay, or it won't get played more than once or twice.

You could add 100 levels, leaderboards, unlockables. Its the simplest games that can be the most popular (flappy bird).

update:
I moved shinq to a more appropriate location on one of my other sites Shinq, you can find it anywhere on mafkr.com in the top right corner. I did a few fb posts on a page i have with 18k likes, posted on a few chans and 1 post here on wicked fire, heres the play log for anyone interested. This is just page loads, not games played.

https://symbiotic.me/app/log-pong

I have an idea for monetizing this and making it alot better but its at the back of the list.

If you're going to promote it as soft pron why not set it up so 'exhibitionist' females can upload their amateur photos to be included in the 'playlist' on your server? You'd have a bit of a problem with the 'revenge porn' angle though. Not sure how you can safeguard against that... hmm...

It'd certainly add another aspect to it though! haha!

Ill tell you exactly whats on my mind. I liked this idea and btw, it took no more than like 20min, maybe an hour because i suck at tracking my time, to toss this thing together.

My concept is, the game is cool because either joke of or the reality of these hot chicks throwing you off balance.

One downfall is that this game cant hold your interest, the video just plays in a loop. Heres the fix

I want to throw you off balance, so I'd create a 2 hour long mix of various videos ranging from techno viking to 2 girls 1 cup, to africans burning live africans in a pit of fire. Witches, to a guy blowing his brains out the back of his skull in a court room. Sick fuck? no. I just remember when I was 14 years old at a birthday party everyone had to gather around a computer to watch a horse fuck a woman. It was what seth godin calls Remarkable, you'd remark on it. I've also noticed, way too many people know about Goatse, 2 girls 1 cup etc and sites like bestgore.com, efukt.com etc exist.

So the idea for improving this is

1) Mix up videos to good music ranging from "haha cool" to "OMFG" - something that will disgust people and get this game banned in arab nations - which is newsworthy.

2) Leaderboard

3) You can't watch the whole video unless you're scoring points

4) Move to places with freedoms with regard to gambling. Countries outside of the USA, countries that allow their subjects that freedom. (a country where im free to participate in an already widely accepted form of commerce or gaming - gambling)

5) Add bitcoin mode. I think the best run at some money would be to let people play for a chance to win bitcoins that accumulate. Say they put in 0.125 bitcoin to win 25% of a pot that is made up of all players that ever put in 0.125 bitcoin. If they put in 0.25 bitcoin, they win 50% and so on.

6) Know that people will hack n smash for that coin, guard against it by adding some random variables. I wouldn't sweat it too much, hackers will win in the end and I don't mind that, but I wont make it easy.

Please, go ahead and do this on my behalf. Just send me some coin :) There are massive untapped opportunities in this space and a barrier to entry+niche audience that tells me it won't be hard to rank. Bitzino claims to have made over 700k in their first 12 months. godspeed, and don't forget who sent you.

You could knock together a product / site where you can play old school video games augmented onto your YT playlist in fullscreen mode perhaps? Just a simple few games like pacman / defender etc. That's just one way of spreading the demographic.

Some of your existing ideas seem quite sound actually.

I'm surprised I forgot about this. I saw this thread the day you launched the game and took a moment to pause and reflect on how simple, yet brilliant the idea is. I really thought by now this would have gone viral. Especially with all of the female empowerment stuff being pushed right now in the tech scene.

I think with a little more promotion this could really take off. You need to share this on reddit and on the bodybuilding.com forums. Also, try getting a campaign going for something like #YesAllPong to mock the #YesAllWomen movement and see if you can target females that have tweeted that hashtag.

I noticed you're in LA. I'm planning a move out there soon within the next year. Maybe we can work together. I'm a programmer. Send me a PM if you want.

Anyways, good luck with the idea.
