Second, yeah we did have our Compliance team send out an email directly to all of our affiliates. It's so we can improve communications on campaign guidelines et. al. and avoid problems like reported in the infamous $25K thread. In fact many of you have been asking for better communications and clarity in this... so here's a beginning.
It's also to help protect us all from things like AFFILIATES BEING SUBPOENAED BY ILLINOIS ATTORNEY GENERAL

Being able to speak with the right person at the affiliate’s company (whether it is just the one guy at the one-man-shop or someone tasked with the job at a bigger company) is critical so that Hydra can respond, if and when, customers and others have complaints. The sooner we react, the safer everyone is, and that protects the affiliates. Networks that don’t care about the sorts of campaigns their affiliates promote and don’t care about contacting them to solve problems are going to be dangerous to run with. Hydra’s goals with compliance are to protect both of our clients – our advertisers and our affiliates.
