Setting up a new WordPress site. Client asked about managed Wordpress hosting. Disk and bandwidth needs are small.

Q1: Upsides/downsides to managed versus self-managed?

Q2: Any recommendations for a provider?

Thanks y'all

if you're familiar with WP you know that managing a WP installation is not a big trouble

login from time to time, check all the updates, update everything, done.

it all comes to what you customer means with "managed", because that's probably where the difference lies (hours of random work your customer considers included in the service)

Yeah, easy enough for me, but the client asked because s/he doesn't know much about it and wants to do it all themselves, just add content now and then without worrying about anything else. Even for them it would be simple enough as long as there wasn't a problem during an update. If there was, could I count on them having backed up the database so they could rollback, or be able to resolve some plugin conflict? Probably definitely not.

as i have in mind is that unmanged are that u do wordpress management at on and if companies takes responsibility then they look for ur wordpress files ... as its not a big deal wheather u r using unmanaged or managed... bc for mange they are just charging uuuu else their is not dif...
